This role is an excellent match for candidates with prior Patient Services Representative (PSR), medical administrative, or call center experience—particularly in a healthcare environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Temporary First Responder, you’ll be responsible for helping patients get the timely support they need. You’ll be managing communications, triaging referrals, and ensuring patient needs are routed to the appropriate clinical teams.
Primary Responsibilities
· Promptly answer incoming phone calls with professionalism and empathy
· Make outbound calls to patients for appointment reminders, scheduling, and follow-up
· Triage and enter referrals accurately into the system
· Schedule patient appointments based on clinical needs and availability
· Route calls and messages appropriately to clinical or administrative staff
· Maintain excellent documentation and follow established protocols
· Provide occasional coverage at the front desk to support patient check-in/check-out
· Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards
· Deliver a positive and helpful experience for all callers and visitors
What You Bring to the Table
Required Experience
· 3+ years of experience in a similar healthcare administrative or PSR role
· Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or patient support center
· Proven ability to manage high call volumes while maintaining composure and accuracy
· Experience using electronic health records (EHR) or scheduling software
Key Skills & Attributes
· Clear, friendly, and professional communication skills—both verbal and written
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize
· Empathy, patience, and a strong sense of customer service
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
