Data Modernization Coordinator

Are you passionate about improving public health? Our client, based in Rhode Island, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of a Remote Data Modernization Coordinator.


  • Spearhead efforts to enhance information sharing for transitions of care, ensuring seamless communication between healthcare entities.
  • Design and coordinate workflows in collaboration with IT, epidemiology, and surveillance teams to optimize data management practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, formulate, and deliver engagement materials and outcomes effectively.
  • Develop and maintain project plans for engagement in public health informatics projects, driving successful implementation.
  • Assess current data and health information systems to identify opportunities for modernization and interoperability improvements.
  • Assist in grant application preparation and submission, including outcome measurement.
  • Support healthcare organizations in onboarding processes for electronic case reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in public health informatics or a related field.
  • Familiarity with HL7, Rational Rhapsody, and electronic laboratory reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, information technology, or a related field, plus three (3) years of professional experience in communicable disease or infectious disease surveillance and/or control programs.
  • Experience working with public health systems, including electronic disease surveillance systems.
  • Proficiency in informatics, with experience in HL7 development and relational databases.
