Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Finance Compliance, the Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring an accurate and highly productive payroll process for approximately 3000 employees. This entails bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing cycles, knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, year-end internal and external audit management, and monthly/quarterly/annual tax reporting. In addition, this position serves as a technical liaison to the Human Resources and Payroll System providing best practice recommendations, ensuring integrity of data, and maintaining and implementing system testing, updates, and rule form modifications. We are looking for someone with at least five years of related experience and enjoys being a leader and supervisor. The successful candidate will have familiarity with payroll processes and relevant legal regulations with excellent analytical skills with experience creating reports and presentations. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related discipline plus at least five years' experience running a payroll system in a large and complex organization, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired is required.
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on payroll experience with a minimum of 5 years as a Payroll Manager
Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations
Project Management skills with proven success leading projects.
Experience with Banner and Cognos is preferred to help ensure success in the position and a Certified Payroll Professional certification is strongly preferred.
