Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing production of goods to ensure that they meet company standards for quality and on-time delivery.
- Meet or exceed applicable Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals (operational, financial, safety, etc.) on a consistent basis.
- Managing and developing a team of manufacturing workers, including hiring, firing, disciplining, and coaching employees as needed.
- In conjunction with Engineering, implementing new technology and operational excellence initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity in manufacturing processes.
- In conjunction with Sales, balance shop workflow with customer requests to provide the best possible customer service.
- Reviewing budgets and financial reports to ensure that operations are profitable.
- In conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor, developing and enforcing safety standards for employees to follow when working with machinery or other potentially dangerous tools or equipment.
- Determining the best manufacturing method for a product, based on cost and other considerations such as quality or delivery timeframes.
- Managing employee training to ensure that safe and efficient work practices are always used.
- Establishing policies and procedures to ensure that manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Participating in the Senior Management group to further the overall vision and direction of the company.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, business, engineering, or applicable field.
- Prior management or manufacturing experience is required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional team members.
- Technical competencies in manufacturing (e.g. technical drawings, blueprints, CAD/CAM).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other industry software.
- Experience in Operational Excellence initiatives – Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc., is preferred.
- Experience running, or working with, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, is preferred.
