Our client based in Auburn, Maine is seeking a VP of Operations to work onsite. The Vice President of Operations will manage all hands-on operational aspects of the company. The incumbent assists the CEO/President in the successful growth of the Company. This involves providing the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure the Company has the proper operational controls, administrative, and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management ensure that the mission and the core values of the Company are put into practice
  • Lead direct reports in developing and implementing plans to achieve the goals and objectives set out in the Annual Business Plan for operating margins, customer retention and customer service
  • Ensure measurement and effectiveness of all internal and external processes
  • Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the Company
  • Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
  • Collaborate with direct reports and the CEO to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the organization
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the Company
  • Represent the firm with clients and business partners
  • Work directly with the CFO and IT Director to grow a sound operation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations or related field, or five years related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience as Director/VP-level in managing one or more major business functions with a team of 20 or more staff members, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MBA or CPP a plus
  • Energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well, accept feedback from others, and be willing to “get hands dirty”
  • Well-organized and self-directed with a team-player approach
  • Intelligent and articulate in relating to people at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Involve staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement
  • Trustworthy with willingness to share information and to serve as a mentor
  • Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, delegate authority and responsibility
  • Decisive with a big picture perspective
  • Ability to facilitate the changes required for software implementation
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to make persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics
